The Odhrán Antique Teak Desk

A late 19th-century Anglo-Indian desk, crafted in solid teak with the quiet confidence and practicality that defines the best pieces from this period.

The top has developed a rich, settled patina, with the gentle marking and variation that comes from years of use. It’s a surface that invites continued use -  not something to be preserved, but properly lived with.

Raised on tapered legs with a shaped apron, the desk has a pleasing lightness through the base, balanced by the weight of the solid teak construction. The drawer configuration is simple and functional, fitted with brass cup handles that sit comfortably within the piece.

Workshops of this kind were producing furniture for long-term use rather than display - proper joinery, well-judged proportions, and materials chosen for durability above all else. That approach is evident here.
